Last Saturday went to NP with Bernard Tan and Ming Chuen to play ping pong. It had been quite a while since we last play ping pong. The last time we played ping pong is at early august.
Today (2 OCT 2007), I was absent from work due to a recurring back problem and a slight fever. The highest body temperature recorded was 37.9 degrees. This back pain seems to just come and go. Went to the doctor at around 12.25pm. Luckily, the clinic has no patient so I was attended immediately upon registration. The bill work out to be $35, must claim from the company. I was also given 2 days of medical leave. So got to go and rest now.

Results
Today (14 Sept 2007) was quite a special day for me. I received my final results slip from NP. I got A for my IAP meaning that my GPA for my final semester is 4. I was so relieved and delighted. I felt relieved as my presentation was really a flop. Mr. Kyle Phua even said that my presentation was lousy. But I think my company evaluation and the final report eventually saved the day for me. My GPA for the six academic semesters barring the one that I deferred reads 3.8491, 3.8776, 4, 3.772, 3.2794 and 4. My graduating GPA stands at 3.7532. Not really sure whether the results will get me a place in the university. But my aim now is to quickly pray that my NS enlistment letter will arrive sooner rather than later. Better to complete NS sooner rather than later. I am 21 years old this year, I could ill afford any delay for the NS things as one physical condition deteriorates with age.
This week also mark the turning point of my time in the QA lab in Nalco. Things are starting to look brighter. I am finally settling better in the lab than in pervious weeks. It is week 5 of my contract work but I am looking forward to week 26 where my contract ends. I am looking forward to the 25 September as it means payday for me.
Today also received a message from Peijun. Apparently, news had spread to her that I had problems in the QA lab and I really thank her for the message.

Happiness > Money
Money is not everything. I have received my first pay as a contract staff with Nalco, it is the only positive that I could draw out since I joined the Nalco QA lab. Nothing is going well since I started my stint with the QA lab on 13 August. The job is better paying job than working as a MacDonald no doubt but I am not enjoying working there. I am supposed to help out in the testing of product, raw material that is brought in by the production/store people. But when they brought in the sample, they treated you as an invisible person. They want the senior staff to test for them. I am not talking about all the production/store people, there are some good one there who is trying to make my life easier. I would like to thanks them. If given a choice, I would have chosen to remain in the CA Lab. I am being very well-taken care of in the CA Lab, there was great rapport and I admit that I have start finishing those day when I have to do the Silica, APT-HS among others test. Today when I walked into the CA lab, I have the urge to do the testing just like what I had done since March this year. If I can turn the clock back, I would have hope that Mr. Zhong would had said yes when Grace asked him whether he wanted to employ me in June. I would have taken the job offer despite the fact that the pay is five hundred dollars lower than what I am taking home now. He wanted me to stay in the CA lab only on 10 August when I had already agreed to join the QA lab. It is just bad-timing. I know that CA Lab is still searching for a contract staff. Sometime, I have hope that the whole thing had not happen and I am still working in the CA Lab now.
Today, I met my secondary classmate Hafiz. That is the only few positive thing that have happen. As I am typing this entry, my mind contains flashback of the wonderful times that happen in my secondary school days. I still vividly recall the street soccer session, the basketball matches with my secondary school friends. I missed the days playing soccer with Jackie, Hafiz, Razi and the others. Basketball session with James Teh, Johny, Yong Chong, Wei Keong, Rui Hao and the others. I missed those days where I face shot after shot when playing as a goalkeeper and grabbing rebound after rebound in the game of basketball. I hope that I could go back to those days.
Speaking about sports, I also missed the day playing table tennis in the NP sports hall with my poly friend. I hope that I could meet up some days for some action in the near future. I have played table tennis with Bernard Tan and MC last month but I have not played with the likes of Ronnie, Justin since around January this year. So anyone interested, can SMS me as I am looking forward to play. Venue and cost is not a problem for me.
Today received a call from Bernard Tan to notify me above the majong session that will take place this coming Saturday at MC house. I am looking forward to the majong session, I seems a long time that we have last played majong. The last time we played is around October during the CPTC training if I did not remember wrongly. So looking forward to Saturday as this could be the last time that we meet up before Bernard and MC go for national service.

End of Attachment
My attachement had ended on 10 August 2007. The final report had been completed and pending for grading from the external examiner and Liason Officer(LO). Now preparing for the presentation on 27 August 2007. I would like to thanks all the staff from Nalco Pacific Pte Ltd Customer Analytical laboratory and other department for all their help and guidance througout my 5 month plus there. I will like to thanks all of them. Grace Eng, Veronica Ong, Yan Jun, Sook Mun, Noorjahan, Ivy Ng, Soon Leong, Lay See, Wang Miao, Chen Hui, Jenny, Zhong Zecheng, Zaf, Chun Hai, Kee, Serene Lim, Nadia and Akram. I would like to thanks for their help in one way or another for the past five month plus. It had been a wonderful time there. I have throughly enjoyed my stint there as an attachment student.
I will like to specially thanks my immediate supervisor Miss Grace Eng for her guidance and her help in my sucessful completion of my attacment. She is also instrumental in helping me get a contract job with the Nalco QA Laboratory while i wait for my NS enlistment letter. I am really grateful for all her help. I would also like to thank Nalco Pacific for giving me another opportunity to learn with another laboratory. My contract is for six months but i can resign before the duration with a month notice should I get my NS enlistment letter. I am really thankful to the company as they draft the contract in such a way that I am too tied down by the contract. I will definitely honour the contract should my NS enlistment letter do not arrive during the six months duration. Due to contract obligation, i was not supposed to disclose my exact salary openly or privately. But my salary is estimated to be in excess of 1.1 K per month after CPF deduction. Not too bad for a job that is 5 days work per week in my view considering the fact that I have yet to receive my diploma.
