Portsmouth vs Tottenham Preview
Portsmouth is on a good run of form. They are fifth in the table just behind the big 4 of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. They are yet to be beaten at their Fratton Park home ground. They are up against a Tottenham side which has yet to register an away win this season. Therefore I think Portsmouth should win this game. 3-1 is my pick.
Birmingham vs Reading Preview
Birmingham is just one point and three spot away from the relegation zone, Reading are poor away from home this season. Reading has just collected one point from their seven away games. This is Alex McLeish first home game in charge. Birmingham should have no problem seeing off poor travelers Reading. 2-0 sounds just right.
Derby vs Middlesbrough Preview
Paul Jewell will also take charge of his first home game when Derby do battle with Middlesbrough. Derby are rock bottom in the league but Middlesbrough are no better themselves as they are just two places off the relegation zone. Middlesbrough come to this game on a high after they ended Arsenal unbeaten League record this season but I think Derby going to edge out Boro in this game. 2-1 will be the score.
West Ham United vs Everton Preview
Everton have just beaten West Ham United 2-1 at the same venue just a couple of days ago in the Carling Cup. Therefore West Ham is out for revenge. However, I see both sides canceling out each other. 1-1 draw will be my prediction.
Manchester City vs Bolton Preview
Manchester City has the best home record in the league. They are the only team in the league that has the 100% record at home. But I see them losing the 100% record. I foresee that Bolton revival under their new coach to continue. I pick Bolton to win 2-1.
Wigan vs Blackburn Preview
Wigan seem to have forgotten how to win a football game, Blackburn have just lost one away game this season. I see Wigan getting their act together with a win. 3-2 is my prediction.
Sunderland vs Aston Villa Preview
Sunderland should see off Aston Villa in this game. 2-1 is my prediction.
Fulham vs Newcastle
I see this game ending in a draw. 2-2 will be my prediction.

Sea Games Soccer
Singapore win the Bronze medal after their 5-0 thrashing of Vietnam but it should be at least a silver in my view. If only they were to beat Laos in the opening match, they would have avoided Thailand at least until the final. But reality is that Singapore lost 3-0 in the semi-final against Thailand and managed to salvage a consolation of a bronze medal with a five-star showing against Vietnam. Singapore at last manage to win a medal in soccer for the first time since 1995. That is a drough that stretches through 12 years. But the positive things is that Singapore manage to qualify from the group stage for the first time since 1999 ever since that year that soccer was changed to only allow players under 23 years of age to participate.

Champion League Roundup
Champion League Group A
What a win for Liverpool, to win 4-0 away from home in the Champion League is simply awesome. Liverpool left it to the final group match to confirm their spot in the last 16. FC Porto finish top of the group when they beat Besiktas 2-0.
Champion League Group B
Schalke dashed Rosenborg dream of a spot of the last 16 when they piped the spot with a 3-1 win in Germany. Valencia ensured that they ended the disappointing campaign on a low with a dull goalless draw away against Chelsea.
Champion League Group C
Olympiakos dream of making it to the last 16 of the competition came true when they thrash Werder Bremen 3-0 to finish second in Group C. Real Madrid confirm top spot in the group when they crash Lazio 3-1 at the Santiago Bernambeau.

AC Milan and Celtic qualify from the group.

Britain hopes of having their six representatives for the first time through to the last 16 were dashed when Rangers fell to Lyon. After Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Celtic have guaranteed their spot in the last 16. All eyes will on Rangers to complete the unique achievement but they were hammered 3-0 at home by visiting Lyon. Lyon snatched the spot in the last 16. Barcelona were comfortable winner in the group other match, 3-1 winners over Stuttgart which condemn Stuttgart to the bottom of the groups.

Roma and Manchester United drew 1-1 at Rome as two sets of fans crashed again for the second consecutive season. Both teams have basically nothing to play for. Dynamo Kiev became the only team in the Champion League this season not to gather any point after they fell to their sixth defeat in their sixth group matches against Sporting. Sporting head for the UEFA Cup as a consolation.

Inter Milan top the group after their 1-0 victory at PSV. Fenerbache made history when they made to through the last 16 for the first time. Their 3-1 victory over CSKA Moscow was simply magnificent.

Sevillla finish their maiden Champion League campaign with a spot in the last 16 as group winners after their 3-0 win at Slavia Prague. Arsenal had to settle for second spot and possibly a harder draw despite their 2-1 home win against Romanian opponent.

I am Sick
I woke up at 6 am as usual but today everything seems strange. My head felt heavy and I feared for the worst. I am sick. Then made my way to the Jurong polyclinic at 7.10am boarding bus 187. Due to the school holiday, the bus was not too packed and reacched the dstination at around 7.30. Saw the doctor at around 8.20am afterwhich I proceed to the pharmacy to get my medicine. During the period, I managed to called my colleague and tell them that i will not be going to work that day. The doctor was good enough to give me two days of Medical Leave. I left the polyclinic at 8.45am after paying the bill which amounted to $14.40.

Wedding Invitation
Tuesday(11/12/2007)- Today received a wedding invitation from Sahir (Production Foreman). Her Daughter is getting married this sunday. The wedding will take place at Grassroots Club which is close to Yio Chu Kang. Therefore need to wake up early for the wedding lunch. It will start at 11.30 am. I should be meeting Delicia at the Yio Chu Kang MRT as I am not very familar with the place there.

Smooth day at work
Monday (10/12/2007)
It was a good day at work as things went smoothly. I am luckily to avoid the Monday’s blues.
Tuesday (11/12/2007)
It was a fine day at work. I am happy that things had been going well at work for this week. Today had a planned trip to Party World cancelled as one of them pulled out at the last moment.
Soccer
Last weekend was a poor weekend for Liverpool. They fell 3-1 to Reading and lost their unbeaten league record. The only consolation is that Arsenal unbeaten league record this season was also ended when Middlesbrough beat them 2-1. Therefore there is no team in the league that is unbeaten thus season. For the champion league that is going to take place next morning. I am very confident that Liverpool is going to thrash Marseille 3-1. Liverpool must win this game to have any chance of progressing to the last 16 of the champion league. For the other group A match, I hope that Besiktas will spring a surprise and beat Porto 2-1 in Portugal.
For group B, I hope that Rosenborg will qualify alongside Chelsea. I really hope that Rosenborg go to Germany and held Schalke 04 to a draw. A draw will be enough for Rosenborg to progress regardless of the Chelsea-Valencia game. I think Rosenborg will draw 1-1 with Schalke. Chelsea-Valencia game will see Chelsea just edging out Valencia 1-0.
For group C, All the four teams are still within a shot of progressing to the last 16. I think Lazio will stun Real Madrid 1-0 in Madrid. I think Olympiakos will beat Bremen 2-0.
For the SEA games, I think Singapore Under 23 have a realistic chance of beating Thailand Under 23. I am now watching the match at Channel 5 and I think Singapore Under 23 perform quite well for the first 18 minutes.

100th Post
This post will be a milestone. It is the one hundred entry. Therefore i will make this post something different. It will be focusing things that I am doing in my current job as a QA Lab Technician. It had been ten months in Nalco Pacific Pte Ltd. For this post, I will like to blog about some of the things that have serve me well for the past few months. lst week of December
It had been a good month in November. Even though I had to work a lot of OT in the QA lab but the month seems to pass very fast. My last day in the QA lab is fast approaching. In one and a half month time (mid-January) I will be bidding the company goodbye. I had some good times in the company especially during my attachment time. Although my contract stint which started in August immediately after my attachment, did not really got off to a good start but things are looking better in the past month. I am really grateful to QA Chemist Sor Kim for all her guidance especially in the early days of my contract stint in the QA lab.
December got off to a really excellent start. I am really pre-occupied with things to do in the past weekend. I have got a new handphone (new line) on Saturday (DEC 1). The phone that I got is Sony Ericsson K810i. I will be sending out details of my new numbers next week. By the way, my current line is still active and I can still be contacted with my current line until at least late December.
Dec 2- Went to Singapore Expo. Went to hall 6 to get a 2GB memory stick for my new handphone. Saw an advertisement showing that the memory stick is selling at below the retail price. I got the stick for $58 which I still find the price rather steep. Not sure whether can trust the content of the advertisement. So if everyone thinks that I am paying over the odds for the stick, please tell me can? Above is some pictures taken at the Expo and at the Expo MRT station.
